Respite Care

We fully appreciate the pressures and stress that providing long-term care for a loved one can entail. Sometimes the opportunity to take a short break or even a holiday can make a huge difference, especially when helping somebody with a specialist condition such as dementia or Parkinson’s.

With respite care, one of our friendly, professional carers is able to step in to care for your loved one while you have a break. This may involve anything from companionship, cooking, cleaning through to personal care, medication management or more complex support for specialist conditions.

Respite care can be provided as either:

  • Live-in care – where a live-in carer will reside in your house providing 24/7 care and support
  • Call-in (Hourly) care – flexible extra support from 1 hour upwards, including sleepovers or waking nights

How long can respite care last?

A break from caring for somebody may last anything from a few days through to several weeks or more. It may simply involve an hour of respite care on a day or round-the-clock live-in care.

The length of care and type of respite care required will depend on your particular circumstances. It may even be that a sudden illness or event means that the outlook is unclear and your requirements will need to be managed as things progress.

Whatever your needs, our respite care service is tailored to you and your family and can be arranged at short notice if required.
